Land pollution is an important aspect of Environmental Public Health as it can affect the ecosystem, biodiversity, food production, Carbon storage and flood prevention. These factors are directly related to the human health. Soil can act as efficient filter for harmful substances as well as the source of pathogens or substances that are toxic.

Roles and Responsibility of the Organisation and profession

Everyone has some responsibility towards the mother nature so that the natural resources will not be overused or burden by our activity. Therefore, the following steps could be adopted by different level of organization or the individual to ensure that our activity will not increase the problems more:

·       Policies related to land pollution should be developed and implemented by the federal, provincial and municipal level.

·       Chemicals discharged from the factories and industries should not be dumped in the land untreated.

·       Reduction and minimization of the waste as much as possible.
