Water becomes polluted and toxic due to the use of chemicals in industrial, agriculture, healthcare, and food industry. Water pollution is caused by sewage dumping, oil spills, pesticides, herbicides, disinfectants, pharmaceuticals, and fertilizers.
Potential impacts of chemical contaminants on water quality

Loss of fish species- Many fish species will be harmed by contaminated water. The level of toxins in the water can be lethal to come fish species.

Contaminate Drinking water- Because chemical waste and chemical disposal/dumping can cause water contamination. Drinking water can cause many health problems over time.
Decrease Dissolved Oxygen Levels- decrease water species and underwater plants
