How do they affect the Environment?

Chemicals can enter the air, water, and soil when they are produced, used or disposed. Their impact on the environment is determined by the amount of the chemical that is released, the type and concentration of the chemical, and where it is found.

How do they affect the human population?

Some substances can cause:

  • Asthma

  • cancer.

  • Many can damage the skin

  • Lung Disease

  • serious long-term damage to the lungs.

Effect that can be immediate  include:

  • Dizziness

  • stinging eyes
